Valentine's Day Tablescapes
Because love isn't cancelled, we prepared a couple of highly romantic tables so that you can make the most of this special occasion!
It is true that there are very few things more romantic than sharing an intimate delicious meal with your lover, in an environment with a low lights and a slow mood, and forgetting about time and let yourself immerse into the whole experience. And to create a super intimate setting, privacy is key - we often celebrate Valentine's Day in an almost industrial setting, so taking this opportunity to celebrate at the comfort of your home and bringing it to a whole new level of intimacy and personal touch is something that makes total sense to us. However, it can be daunting to prepare such an event - it is a rather fine distance between creating an intimate romantic atmosphere that says "I Love You" in an refined way and going just over that sweet spot and start falling into the tacky field.
That is why we want to present you with a couple of ideas and tips that will surely help you create a Valentine's Dinner that speaks You & your Lover and that is as passionate as it is elegant! This will be the perfect start for a passionate evening!
Make it Moody and Romantic
If you are in for a moody, super romantic Valentine's Day table setting, red is a must! Naturally, and as it sets the tone for the whole mood, the tablecloth will have to incorporate this chromatic spirit, but take care with the intensity of it. It is tempting to go with a full vivid red tablecloth, but that will be too intense and to heavy and steal the show from everything else - and that's definitely not the point! Everything should have its own space in the whole stage of the tablescape and help highlight the remaining elements, so prefer a lighter tablecloth with red ornate patterns (flowery patterns are definitely the most adequate here), and go for a tablecloth that is very sensory and luxurious to the touch!
Then, as flowers are a must, don't be afraid of being generous on the amount of red roses to symbolize all the love! Pair them with some brighter toned and lighter flowers and they will complement each other in perfection!
Candles are also absolutely necessary - they will not only create a low light mood, but will also bring a vertical and elegant element to the tablescape, and will help create a visual connection between the two of you.
Finally, and to let all the warm food shine, prefer some lighter plates and elegant and ornate cutlery. Our little red ribbons also bring a nice additional touch of red to tie it all together!
Et voilá! You're ready for your most romantic dinner of the year!
Go Lush & Rustic
Do you live somewhere where the climate is warmer at this time of the year? That's the perfect reason to celebrate Valentine's Day outdoors and celebrate love in a Natural setting, that feels even more youthful and secretive - and we all know these are the best ingredients for passion!
We've prepared a tablescape that makes the most of the environment around - surely not everyone will have a centennial table carved out of naturally occurring stone in the landscape, but we wanted to convey the idea that you don't need to bring too many elements to such a setting - it is probably better to let Nature itself shine and, of course, let love flow freely!
Our inspirational tablescape is set upon a bare stone table, so the use of placemats is a must here. However, all the other elements, although very elegant, are more sparse and blend perfectly into the tones of the atmosphere - for that, we avoided anything red and went along with more greens and earthy colors - notice that the placemats and napkins have natural linen hues, the cutlery handles are in a luxurious shiny pearl tone, and the glasses mix the lightness of their transparency with copper accents on their borders.
All in all, and while this is probably not the most intuitive romance table, the atmosphere it creates, in connection with the surroundings, is perfect for having a super intimate dinner with the one you most love!
